Yahoo Data Breach (yes, another one)
While UTF has a duty to help ensure our members' financial security, we also want to make sure you are safe in other ways. This includes your data security.
Yahoo just announced the largest data breach in history, affecting over one billion users, which breaks their own previous record of about 500 million affected users. The breach most likely ocurred as far back as August, 2013.
They are unsure of who initiated the attack and for what purpose, but it appears that the majority of compromised accounts were likely not adversly affected.
What action should you take?
If you had a Yahoo account around August, 2013, it's possible your username and password were compromised and you should take the following steps:
1) Change your password on your yahoo account
2) Change your password on any other account you have that uses the same or a similar password
