A hacker was able to break into one of Capital One's servers, gaining access to 140,000 Social Security numbers, 80,000 bank account numbers, as well as names, addresses, credit scores, credit limits, and balances.

If you applied for a Capital One credit card in between 2005 and early 2019 you may have been impacted by the breach. This means that your social security number may have been compromised.
