United Teletech Financial Honored at the FoodBank’s Annual Humanitarian Gala
April 17, 2017
TINTON FALLS, N.J. – On Friday, March 24th, The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties presented their 2017 Humanitarian of the Year awards during their annual gala. United Teletech Financial (UTF) was honored to be recognized for both contributions to the community and the FoodBank.
The award was accepted by Michael Hou Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Untied Teletech Financial. Members of UTF’s Management Team were also in attendance during the lovely event held at Navesink Country Club. Via video message, UTF President and CEO, Leo Ardine, said, “We’ve been involved with the FoodBank primarily for 2 reasons. There is overlap in our sense of community. UTF works to provide financial security for our members; The FoodBank works to provide food security for its clients. One of the mainstays for both of our organizations is the sense of dignity with which we try to approach the needs of our members and clients.”
United Teletech is a proud and long-time supporter of the FoodBank, participating in a variety of programs over the past decade. “We’ve been able to provide support in various ways. In addition to the annual food drives we coordinate food drives in all of our branches around the holidays, we also provide opportunity for our members to directly support the FoodBank through our Skip-A-Pay program, resulting in thousands of dollars donated each winter” said Ardine.
The FoodBank’s mission is to alleviate hunger and build food secure communities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Ninety-five cents of every dollar raised is applied directly toward food and programs.
Mr. Ardine summed up the great award by saying, “We are so honored to be named Humanitarian of the Year. It is humbling to be recognized along with the other award winners this year. I am thrilled to receive this on behalf of the twenty-four thousand members of the credit union.”
